Speaking for myself, it is not Canada Day if we do not take a minute to sing our national anthem. One of the very special memories I have was years ago, when gathered at the Ukrainian Village for Canada Day, we were all asked to sing in our first language, or the language of our ancestors. It was awe inspiring! I heard 7 different languages celebrating our county, and I know I did not hear all of the different languages being used.
The Calgary Tower celebrated 50 years on Canada Day. Special events help to create traditions.
The Crafty Lady's traditions include:
- 10% discount on all yarn purchased for Knitted Knockers, when you return the knockers to the store (and we deliver to Red Deer for stuffing)
- accepting donations of acrylic for people to work into Blankets for Canada, homeless shelters, Ronald McDonald House and nursing homes in Red Deer
- Knit Night
- Lori is not a fan of "in-lieu of" days off or moving holidays, therefore since Sunday is July 1st and we are always closed on Sunday, she sees no reason to be closed on July 2 so you get a bonus day to shop!
- AND our weekly 75 % Off Sale
Our box of orphans over-floweth, therefore, we are offering our orphan collection for sale.
