Seriously?

The full moon last week was spectacular, when you could see it through the rain storms! We did have a couple of great nights for a bonfires and wiener roasts. Some of the young people were out boating, laughing it is almost fall and they have been out only a half-dozen times this year - as it has been too rough to do a lot of water-skiing and wake-boarding.

Farmers have started harvesting, geese are drifting south on their fall migration and can been seen in local fields early morning and late afternoons. Local gardeners are gathering their bounty from the garden - and parents have started back to school shopping!

We are more than half-way through August - to over state-the obvious. Seriously time to finish the unfinished spring projects ready for next summer - unless we have a really early Indian Summer, when they would be perfect.

Congratulations to all the winners at the Bentley Fair, 2 of whom are regular customers here at The Crafty Lady. Entries were down - slightly. The bonus was many of those entering were younger people than in the past. We hope they will continue to improve their skills and out pace some of us older competitors.

If you are planning your September and/or Christmas - The Crafty Lady will again be at the Creativ Festival West!!

The Crafty Lady will be teaching classes at both venues. Classes will be tips and tricks to learn new cast-ons, cast-offs, increases and decreases. She also has three new patterns - two in print, one in production as we post this.
If you have all of your fall/winter projects mapped out, these cooler days are perfect for getting some of them started. Speaking from experience, once you get the project planned and cast on, it is often easily taken with you on your travels.

This week's 75% Off Special is perfect for some of those smaller take-along projects. This soft thick-and-thin yarn features an unusual printed effect that allows the natural colour of incredibly soft merino wool to shine through.

  1. This colour is big this year. It's in t-shirts for women, hoodies in both men and women.
